Evaluation 

The brief of the task was to create a short film that was a conversation between two people, that demonstrated a 180 degree line, match in action and a shot-reverse-shot. 

A 180 degree line is a rule of filming. The 180 degree line is where the camera can't cross a certain point, this is so that the background doesn't change. The shot-reverse-shot is where the camera goes from looking at one subject to looking at another and then back again. A match on action is  where action from one shot is matched with the part of the action in the next shot to make a continuos shot.  

The planning that we did for this project included a risk assessment, script,storyboard,location research and a shot list. The script was done on Celtx which was hard to use at the start but, then after making one script I now think it is easy to use. The list of shots were used to help with the storyboard. The storyboard was drawn by hand and was used to set out the small conversation along with  the shots we decided to use. this helped with how the film would look.The location research was done by looking at suitable places to film the project. After finding the location of where we were going to film we then risk assessed the area to make sure that it was clear and safe for filming.

The first part of the project that we filmed was of the first character walking down a corridor and going through the door in a long shot. Then we repeated this but as a close up shot of the first character entering the room. The shot was of the door handle, this was to start creating a match on action. the next shot was of the first character entering the room from the other side of the door. It was a long shot and was filmed right up to where the first character sits down. This edited together created a match on action. After that we filmed the first character sitting down in a medium shot. The next thing that we did was to film the whole conversation in an over the shoulder shot looking at the first character in a medium shot and then we repeated it in a medium shot looking at the second character. This when edited was used as the shot-revrese-shot.  

The editing of this project was hard as nobody in the group had edited before. First we decided to pick out the clips that we were going to use and put them into order. Then we cut the clips so that we could use the footage that was good and not the footage that did not have any place in the film. The main problem we had was trying to match the sound up with the clip and over laying the sound to make sure all natural noises occur, for example we had to over lay the sound of the door shutting over the top of the main clip. Snapping the clips together really help to make sure everything flows and the fade in effect at the start of the project along with the title sequence really makes the clip look good. 

Our film demonstrates the line 180 degree line as it never breaks the rule. All the shots are filmed from the same side of the line. It demonstrates a shot-reverse-shot as the shots go from the first character to the second and back again in the first few shots. In our film we all filmed a match on action of walking down a corridor and going through the door. As well as the match on action of character one walking into the room and sitting on the chair.
